I’m trying to implement a two-step choice task and would appreciate your advice on the best way to set this up. In my experiment, respondents first choose between Alternative A and Alternative B. I would then like to ask a second question comparing the alternative selected in the first question with the status quo.
For example:
If the respondent selected Alternative A, the second question should display:
Alternative A
Status quo
Ideally, I would like both questions to appear within the same choice task. I tried setting these two choice questions within one experiment but failed. Then I considered keeping only the first question inside the experiment and adding a separate Single Choice question immediately after the experiment. I tried using Answer Display Conditions for this follow-up question, but I’m not sure how to reference the response from the experiment choice question.
Could you please advise whether this can be done within the same Experiment choice task? Or is the recommended approach to keep only one question in the experiment and add a separate follow-up question afterwards?
