monitoring real IP addresses

Hi Survey Engine team,

how can we see the IP addresses of the respondents? Currently they are hidden ..

IP anonymisation is anonymised by default.

You can collect IP but be aware your may be in breach of local regulations like the GDPR or your agreement with your respondents. This is considered Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

To collect visible IP addresses do th e following:
On your survey edit page go to settings.

Then down the bottom there is a dropdown allowing you to capture real IP addresses.

Note this cannot be performed retroactively.

thanks Benno.. If I change the setting now, I cant still see it for the new respondents of this ongoing survey?

I believe so - though you’ll need to republish to make changes work.
