After creating a survey we noticed that some variables are not created correctly. They appear in the dictionary but have different names than those in the pages view (fieldXY, field YZ etc.). This issue can be explained like this in more detail:
One mandatory survey item is displayed correctly and must be answered in order to complete the survey, but it is not saved in the data export. All other items on the same page are recorded correctly.
Why this appears to be a survey engine issue
· We tested the survey ourself using the live Prolific link .
· The item is shown correctly and cannot be skippe d.
· The survey cannot be completed without answering this it em.
· However, in the exported dataset, responses for this specific item are missing entir ely.
This suggests that the item is answered but not written to the database by the survey en gine.
Additional information
· The affected item is on the same page as other items that are saved correctly.
· There is no conditional logic or filtering applied that would explain the missing data.
· The issue occurs consistently (not only for a single respondent).
Could you please help us to investigate:
· whether there is a known issue with saving mandatory items,
· whether a specific setting might prevent this item from being stored, or
· how I can recover or prevent the loss of this data?
